How to approach the opposite gender with confidence!

Basically anyone who has trouble talking to the opposite gender I would recommend this book. It isn't about picking up girls or boys, but basically getting your mind right. Anyone who tells themselves that "they suck with girls or boys" has more going on in their head than just not being good with girls. You are telling yourself things which you may not realize and it is holding you back.

"Would you physically crawl up to someone on all fours, BEGGING for their approval and acceptance?"

Probably not, but this is what you are doing mentally when you talk yourself out of approaching or when you get nervous and stressed out when approaching. You need to look at them as a person.

Anyways, good book. Should definitely read it.

Right let's get back to the point of the thread

  • You have to understand the time, effort, mental preparation needed before you can chat up to anyone anywhere.
  • If you only talk to the opposite gender when you know them or they are your friends or you know they will talk to you, you need to EXPAND on your social network.
  • TALK TO EVERYONE, whether they are fat, ugly, nerds, most popular guy/girl in the school, the slut, the bitch, even your teachers
  • The problem with movies these days is that the GUY or GIRL always gets the GUY or GIRL. They make asking a girl/guy for their number or asking them on a date so easy and awkward. THIS IS NEVER TRUE.
  • Also if you HAVE NEVER talked to the opposite gender without knowing them first, don't expect to appear impressive to them at first. You'll most likely look awkward but its normal.
  • Isolate what is troubling you about approaching a person you don't want to.
  • 'Will he/she think im ugly?' Fuck it. Who cares what they think. They aren't important anyway. If they don't want to talk to you, that's their problem, they're missing out on a GREAT opportunity to meet a cool person like you.

You can wake up feeling great one morning and feel absolutely shit and ugly the next day. YOUR MOOD AFFECTS the people around you.

Start small


  • Maybe ask the girl/guy you always had a crush on or found attractive a few questions in class? Say hello when you see him/her. Offer to help them when they are stuck.
  • Don't expect them to hate you/love you in the first conversation. They are just getting to know you. Don't act cocky, don't try to be 'cool', don't flirt unless you are experienced, STAY SMALL.
  • Also note, avoid talking to guys or girls a lot on Facebook/MySpace etc and expect them to talk to you with as much interest Irl.
  • If you are a really shy guy/girl, then try talking to a girl/guy YOU FIND REVOLTING. Then you will feel superior (it sounds sad but true with a lot of guys/girls). Once you feel more confident move up the hierachy. Talk to more popular people/attractvie people of the opposite gender more often.
  • Also if you are walking on the street in a mall. WATCH
  • there will always be a few guys/girls starting small chat with the opposite gender. Watch how they do it, if you're close enough listen.

CRUCIAL INFORMATION
  • Never I MEAN NEVER look for prewritten pickup, opening conversation tips.
  • PEOPLE prefer socially active people not a robot spewing internet bullshit.
  • Even if you don't know what the hell to say to the opposite gender, you will improve with practice. Pre-written lines may sound great, but will appear awkward and you will eventually run out of sources. Making your own means you will improve your technique.
  • Also You have to learn how to not be afraid to say ANYTHING to ANY GIRL. DONT HOLD SOMETHING IN because you are afraid you will offend her. BUT DONT GO TOO EXTREME. For example, don't say Nice tits slut, in your opener, you'll most likely get slapped. If you think she is beautiful however, comment that shes looking good today, she won't frown upon you unless you are some extremely ugly toad, which 99% of us ain't.

Also did you know, the a large MAJORITY of guys/girls who randomly ask an opposite gender for a date/number get rejected on the first go? They will get this.


SO don't feel alone. Keep trying. Theres billions of people to chat up to. If one shrugs you off who cares.

How to get six pack abs!

Want abs? never have the time you say?

Muscles worked:
rectus abdominis (six-pack) with some activation of the external obliques (muscles at the sides of the abdomen).

Positioning the Body:

1.Lie on the floor face up with hands behind the head. Don’t clasp the fingers behind the head. The hands should not propel the head forward in this exercise.


2.Legs are bent at approximately right angles at the knee with feet flat on the floor, shoulder width apart.


3.Brace the abdominal muscles and hold a neutral spine position with a slight natural curve in the lower back (lumbar) region yet with the back firmly against the floor.

Movement:
Move the shoulders upward and curl slightly forward as you contract the abdominals until the shoulder blades are about two to three inches (5-7 centimetres) off the floor, or about 30 degrees; hold for about two seconds.


Unlike the squat and deadlift, a curl forward with the upper back and shoulders is necessary with the crunch and an arched back is contra-indicated because of biomechanical forces pulling on the spine.


Exhale as you come up and inhale as you return in preparation for the next repetition. Don’t hold the breath on the up movement. Contracting the abdominals does not mean holding the breath. The head should be kept straight and the chin should not drop to the chest.


Return to the starting position under control. Don’t flop down. Try ten repetitions for three sets starting out and increase it as you get stronger.


A reverse crunch has the arms by the sides and legs bent at the knees, feet off the floor with lower legs parallel to the floor. The legs are ‘reversed’ toward the chest with hips raised slightly from the floor.


A 'combined crunch' integrates both shoulder and leg/hip movement in one exercise. This is a very powerful advanced exercise working the rectus abdominis and the external obliques, the muscles at the sides of the abdominal area.


When you can do three sets of fifteen combined crunches you know your abs (and hip flexors) are in good shape.

Check Points:
Brace the abs ready for the lift.


Don’t lift the feet or back off the floor (in the standard crunch).


Do keep the head still and chin up.


Do lower under control and don’t flop.


Remember to breathe normally.


Don’t try to get the shoulders too high in the crunch and remember you don’t want the lower back to rise in this exercise. Think of the shoulder blades as the dividing line.
Crunch away and get those stomach muscles ready for anything. In fact, strengthening the abdominal muscles will prepare you not only for vigorous sporting activity but for those active tasks around the home, like gardening, where bending and twisting and reaching are paramount.

Don't forget to rehydrate with water or perhaps a sports drink, and refuel with some carbohydrate within about 30 minutes for best effect, particularly if you finished off with the cardio.

How to lucid dream

Introduction
I'm sure many of you don't know what a lucid dream is but for those who do know what one is please continue reading as the guide will cover how to have lucid dreams often. Basically a lucid dream is when your body is asleep but your mind is still processing normally, this results in you being mentally aware that your dreaming. I know you guys are thinking "WELL WTF?! SO WHAT?!!" the point is that while in this state your brain can do whatever it wants without physical limitations. In lucid dreams people have gone flying, jump off mountains with no injury, etc. Now that you understand the basic concept of a lucid dream read on.

How to have a lucid dream
Lucid dreams are extremely rare and sometimes happen to a person once in a lifetime maybe twice. Yet some people get lucid dreams almost every week. The reason some people get it so many times is because they may be using methods to induce lucid dreams whether they are aware of it or not. Since this is Sythe I will just make it short and simple with basic explanations on each method.

-Have random sleeping patterns and get up erratically.
Don't have a set bedtime or don't have a schedule for your sleeping. Sleep 4 hours in the day wake up at 2 go back to sleep at 4 wake up at 11. Things like that. Having erratic sleep patterns increase the chance of having one.

-When your tired stay up and when your not go to sleep.
This sort of goes hand in hand with the sleeping patterns and is pretty self-explanatory

-Wake up earlier than you usually do but don't move.
This makes your mind more alert and messes your sleep-cycle.

-Keep a dream book.
As soon as you get up record your dreams in a journal or book so you won't forget them, this will be helpful in dream recalling.

-Lucid dream pills etc.
This is not recommended and can only be subscribed from sleep specialists. This medicine is used to cure people from sleep related sicknesses but can result in lucid dreaming.

-Before going to sleep keep your mind aware and keep on thinking about having a lucid dream.
Just let your body relax while letting your mind focused.

-Hypnotherapy
Having a professional induce you into a lucid dream.

How you know if your in a lucid dream
The hard part of having a lucid dream is knowing whether you are in a lucid dream or in real life. This is called dream testing. You know if you are in a lucid dream if:

-Time changes erratically
check someones watch and look away, if it is a different time then you are in a lucid dream.

-Close your nose and mouth, then try and breath
If you can breath than you are in a lucid dream.

-Look into a mirror
if the image you see is distorted or blurred then you are in a lucid dream.

-Take your finger and try and put it through your wrist
If it goes through you are in a lucid dream.

Dream Recall
Dream recall is an important part in lucid dreaming and can help you have lucid dreams faster. People who can remember their dreams more easily are prone to having lucid dreams because of the fact that they will somewhat know if they are dreaming. This is done in various ways.

-DREAM BOOK!
this is very very very important. As soon as you wake up you must write down everything you remember from your dream. Its best to do it asap because it will be fresh on your mind.

-Think before you go to sleep
If you know what you want to dream about then try thinking about it really hard but not too hard so that you can't fall asleep but hard enough to remember it and keep it intact while dreaming.

I-Doser aid
I-Doser has a dose called lucid dream. This has not been scientifically proven to link to lucid dreams but I-Doser's website does say it helps in having lucid dreams. After using this I only felt sleepy and relaxed and when I went to sleep I did not have a lucid dream. I suppose you could use this to aid your lucid dreaming perhaps listening to it while going to sleep but I don't think it will help. However I have heard mixed results, my friend Michael uses this and says he has lucid dreams more frequently while using it. I will try using it again and giving feedback on how it encourages lucid dreaming.

Warnings and cautions
Lucid dreams are great since you can do whatever you want and stuff like that but lucid dreaming has been linked to sleep paralysis. Sleep paralysis is a state in which your body cant move because its still sleeping but your eyes are open and you can see. Also known as the devil's choke, people who have had sleep paralysis tend to have hallucinations even though they are not actually there. It can last from as short as 1 minute to as long as 2 hours. This is not meant to scare you guys, it happens though.

A: I usually have 1 to 2 every other week, it depends on whether i'm trying to induce one or it just happens.

A: Actually no, on the contrary lucid dreamers feel extremely well rested and better than regular sleep.

Basic Guide to 8-Ball Billiards (Pool)

History
The first pool table was made in the 15th century. At that time, there would be one hole, or “pocket”, in the center of the table, and one would try to hit the balls into the hole by using the “hitting ball”, or cue ball, which currently is the white ball. The standard pool game today, eight ball, was founded around 1900. This game consisted of 7 red balls, 7 yellow balls, and the cue ball. None of the complicated rules of today’s pool, such as scratches, existed until the game was added to the official billiards rule book in 1940. Today, 8-ball is the most popular billiards game internationally.

Equipment

List of Necessary Equipment
To play 8-ball, you need a standard pool table, a cue, a bridge, and the balls that come with the table (7 striped, 7 solid, 1 black, 1 white).

The Balls
There are 16 balls involved in 8-Ball Pool, one which you hit, the cue ball, and 15 others, numbered 1-15, which you hit the cue ball at to try and get them in the pockets along the table. Balls 1-8 are solid colored, and balls 9-15 are striped.

The Table
The surface of the pool table is 9 feet long by 4.5 feet wide; however, smaller sizes are used in many situations if the room is not big enough. There are six pockets along the edges of the table, one in each corner, and two on opposite edges in the middle of the table, as seen in the image below. A high-quality pool table usually has a heavy quarry-grade slate as its base, weighing up to 300 pounds and keeping the table steady. The surface of a pool table is covered with billiards cloth, which if scratched is very expensive to replace.

The Cue and Accessories

Cue
The standard cue is what is used to strike the cue ball. It is usually 58 inches long and is made of wood bonded with carbon fiber.

Short Cue
This is just a shorter version of the standard cue. It is generally used when the table is surrounded by close walls and the use of a shorter stick is necessary.

Bridge
The Bridge is used when you cannot reach the ball you want to hit easily. However, this is not allowed in professional play, and sometimes it is just more fun to lean over the table at a crazy angle.

Rules
These are the rules of 8-ball pool. These are for a one versus one game, for a two versus two game, you do the same thing, but split into two teams and each player alternates on every other shot for their team.

Objective
The objective is to pocket all of the balls on your side (explained below) in the six pockets. Both players alternate shots until one completes this, and wins the game.

Initial Setup
The 15 balls are initially placed in the rack and moved to the position where the triangle is on the picture of the pool table above. The eight ball must be in the middle, so it cannot go in on the break. In addition, the two corner balls must be of opposite colors. Otherwise, the remaining balls may be placed in a random fashion.

The Break and Choosing Sides
One of the two players has to begin the game by breaking the balls in their setup. They place the cue ball on the opposite market, and hit it into the rack of balls (with the rack being removed, of course). If they hit a ball in, they will examine whether the ball was striped or solid. If striped, they go on the rest of the game trying to pocket the stripes, white their opponent tries to pocket the solids, or vice versa. If no balls are pocketed on the break, all balls, except for the 8 ball (explained later), are fair game for both teams until one gets one in, where the same rule applies that was mentioned above, and they try and hit that color in for the rest of the game.

Winning
After a player has hit all of his balls in the pockets, he must hit the eight ball into the pocket to win. Once he successfully hits the eight ball in without fouling, he has won the game.

The 8 Ball
The eight ball is key to winning. However, it can also lose you the game. If you hit the eight ball in before you have hit the other balls in, you lose the game.

Fouls

Scratching
Scratching, or hitting the white ball in the hole, is a foul with constitutes your opponent being able to place the white ball anywhere behind where it was originally put into play (the left center dot). Your opponent must hit forward after that placement (aiming towards or past the dot). Additionally, if you scratch when you hit a ball in the hole, the ball is removed from the hole and placed on the right center dot (where the rack started).

Intentionally Aiming at the Eight Ball or the Opponents Balls

Aiming at the' opponents ball intentionally and directly (without hitting at least 3 walls first) constitutes a foul with results in your opponent being rewarded two shots.

Knocking a Ball Off The Table
This results in a foul which places the ball at the right center mark, unless it is the cue ball, then it is placed at the left center mark. However, if the eight ball is knocked off, the game is lost. If it is one of your opponents balls, you lose your next turn (they get two shots in a row).
